Aren't I Good For You?
It feels good. We feel like we're floating, we're in the clouds. Nothing matters anymore.
But does it really help us? Is it another harmful blessing that we touch, that we breath, that we smoke into our lives again and again?
Anyways, since when do harmful things not hurt? If this makes us feel good, then shouldn't we continue it?

Thoughts: Drugs, what a weird thing it is, isn't it? Especially with the obvious sense of mystery surrounding it? With its ability to help us, transport us into dozens of different realities, yet hurt and harm us at the same time?
We know that it hurts us, it drags us down subtly, pulling and tearing us apart with such a strong force that comes crumbling down on all of us all of a sudden, yet we choose to relinquish in this desirable pleasure?
Is it human nature to be greedy and crave for things that could potentially harm us all the time? Is there a way to change this then?
The idea of this piece came about when I was considering how drugs impacts lives, the good (healing, preventing and curing symptoms), and the bad (addiction, taking over your life, controlling you and your mind, affecting those around you at the same time). I wanted to be able to convey the feeling of immense fear, yet the absolute thrill that the thought of the topic itself manages to evoke. I wanted this piece to give an all-encompassing feeling, for this sense of overwhelming excitement and anxiety to transcend the paper that it was etched upon.
Another thought that keeps repeating: drugs do not necessarily always bring people pleasure and temporary peace and joy. Sometimes, all it has to offer is a sense of paranoia. Then, why would people continue to seek out these unsettling imaginations? Is reality so bad that they actually find solace in all of these places then? These places that seem to be the part of nightmares? Are my nightmares the dreams of some others?
